Not long ago, a picture of two adorable pups cuddling in their cozy bed became an internet sensation after being shared on Facebook. The dynamic duo goes by the names Agatha and Jukebox, and they currently call the Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona their home. Interestingly, these furry friends came to the shelter differently – Agatha was brought in by her owners, while Jukebox was found as a stray. Despite their different backgrounds, the pair hit it off right away when they met at the shelter and have been inseparable ever since.
According to Kristen Hassen-Auerbach, the director of animal services, when two dogs come to the shelter as a bonded pair, it’s typically because they’ve spent their entire lives together. However, in the case of these two dogs, they had just met in a playgroup and immediately became inseparable. Despite not knowing each other before, they found solace in each other’s company and their bond quickly eased any anxiety or depression that came with being in a shelter. Because of this, they are hoping to be adopted as a pair so that they can continue living together.
The staff at the shelter are optimistic that the exposure on social media could assist in finding a permanent home for Agatha and Jukebox, with the added bonus of keeping them together. In the meantime, the duo is making an effort to charm any potential adopters who happen to stroll by their kennel.
According to Hassen-Auerbach, the only thing they desire is a home that can appreciate them as much as they do. Agatha and Jukebox provide entertainment like a TV show for the staff, and watching them together has the power to lift their mood when they are feeling down.
